Description

This is a group of three houses located at 12, 14, and 16 Thomas Street, Cirencester. They were likely built in the late 18th or early 19th century. The front of the houses is faced with finely dressed limestone ashlar, while the sides and rear are of more roughly squared limestone rubble. The roof is covered with stone slates and has a catslide slope at the rear. There are three chimney stacks, two of ashlar construction, with one at the left end rebuilt in concrete blockwork, all topped with 19th-century clay pots.

The houses have a three-storey, three-window facade. The first floor has three windows with 6/6-pane sashes set in plain reveals. The second floor has three similar windows with 3/3-pane sashes. The ground floor also has three windows with 6/6-pane sashes, and each house has a four-panel door with an overlight in a plain reveal. Cill bands run along the first and second floor windows. Number 12 features concrete tiles on the rear roof slope and has a 19th-century rear extension. The interiors were not inspected.
