Description

The Baptist Chapel gates and railings, located on Coxwell Street in Cirencester, date from the mid-19th century. They feature cast-iron railings set on a limestone base with a chamfered top. The railings curve back from the pavement line to the central gates, which are flanked by open-work cast-iron piers. To the right, there is a pair of gates that do not have piers. The railings are adorned with moulded cast-iron details and spear-head finials. A foundry mark reading "JN BUTT & CO KINGSHOLM FOUNDRY GLOUCESTER" can be found on the railing at the right end.
