Description

This is an early to mid-19th century bridge spanning the River Chelt, with later mid-20th century restorations. The bridge is constructed of stone and brick and incorporates iron railings and piers. On the south-west side, the bridge features stone faces with stepped voussoirs forming a single segmental arch. Flanking the arch are pilasters finished as ashlar piers, topped with cross-gabled capping. These piers are linked by lancet railings. Outer piers are complemented by a brick parapet wall. The north-east side of the bridge is in red brick, containing a segmental arch with an ashlar keystone, and ashlar copings. The north end of the bridge has been rebuilt.
