Description
The Pavilion at Hewlett's Reservoir is a single-storey octagonal building, likely originally a valve house, built around the 1870s as part of the Hewlett’s Reservoir complex. It is constructed of red brick with vermiculated stone quoins and plinth, topped with a fishscale slate roof and featuring an iron verandah.
The exterior includes a doorway on one wall and pointed windows, which have been replaced with uPVC, on the other walls. The pointed-arched door is ledged and braced, adorned with decorative strap hinges. The roof extends outward on all sides to form a verandah, supported by colonnettes, with ornamental decoration along the eaves. At the apex of the roof, there is a cast-iron weathervane.
Inside, the pavilion consists of a single cell with plastered walls, a moulded cornice, and timber floorboards. The ceiling is also finished in timber.
