Description

The well head, located on the terrace to the south of Coombe Trenchard, dates from around the 10th century. It is made of stone and features a Byzantine or Romanesque style, likely influenced by northern Italian designs. The rectangular structure is adorned with six panels that display stylized foliage carvings beneath blind arcading. Additionally, a wrought iron frame, added around 1906, has been fixed to the well head.
