Description

The Leane chest tomb, dated 1739, is located approximately 5 metres south of the Church of St. Andrew in Buckland Monachorum. This chest tomb is constructed with stone rubble walls featuring a drip course and is topped with a slate lid. The lid displays an epitaph at the center and an angel's head at the top, which is flanked by a skull and an hourglass. It commemorates Margaret Leane of Plymouth.
