Description

The Waddon Martyn memorial, located about 5 meters east of the Church of St Mary, is a mid-19th century stone structure commemorating the Reverend Thomas Waddon-Martyn, who died in 1846. It features a canopied niche set into the wall of the churchyard path. The memorial has a moulded ogival Gothic arch adorned with crockets and terminating in a finial, supported by moulded corbels. The arch is decorated with cusping, making this an interesting example of early Gothic revival architecture on a miniature scale.
