Description

No. 27 West Street is an early 19th-century house of three storeys and three bays. The ground floor is stuccoed, while the upper floors are white-washed rubble. The roof is slate-covered. The windows are casement windows, with shutters on the ground floor. A prominent central doorway features an open pediment supported on fluted Ionic half columns, and a fanlight with Gothic glazing bars. The rear elevation is clad in slate and includes a surviving iron window-box guard. The listing description suggests the building may incorporate an earlier structure that has been altered.
