Description

The Coach and Horses public house, at Nos 3 and 5 Market Street, Appledore, is likely from the 18th or early 19th century, and has been altered since its original construction. It is a two-storey building with four windows at the first floor, displaying exposed frames and glazing bars, including a higher section to the left with one window. The exterior is stuccoed and colourwashed. An arched entrance is located on the return face to One End Street; this entrance has a radial bar fanlight, and at each floor there is one sash window with exposed frame and glazing bars, and one blank recess. The buildings on Market Street are considered to form a notable group.
