Description

The Seamen's Mission is a building likely dating from the early 19th century, located on The Quay in Appledore. It is a two-storey structure with two arched windows on each floor, featuring glazing bars. The exterior is finished in stucco and includes a springing band, flank pilasters, and a gable topped with a blank panel and a flag pole. Adjacent to it is the Memorial Sailors' Rest, a three-storey building also in stucco, which has three sash windows on each floor, including in the east wing, although the glazing bars have been altered. The entrance on the left side includes a fanlight and side lights. All the listed buildings in The Quay are part of a group.
