Description

Beaford Bridge is a bridge, likely built in the mid-19th century. It is constructed from roughly squared sandstone with some ashlar dressings. The bridge features parapets with rounded granite copings and has a slightly cambered design, spanning three segmental arches that are supported by ashlar voussoirs. The piers are battered and have triangular cutwaters, along with battered abutments. Each parapet includes a flat string course and rounded coping, curving outward over the wider abutments at the approaches.

The bridge carries the Beaford-Merton road over the River Torridge, which serves as the parish boundary at this location.
