Description
The Larches is a house dating from the early to mid 19th century. It features rendered walls and a hipped slate roof, with a brick stack positioned off the ridge at the front. The building has a double depth plan that is two rooms wide, with a central entrance hall and a side lobby at the right end, situated between the front and rear rooms.
The exterior is two storeys high and has a regular five-window front. Some window openings have been blocked, but the windows in the centre and to the right still have their original 9-pane sashes. There are 12-pane sashes below to the left of centre and to the right. The central entrance features an original six-panel door. The right-hand end wall includes a 9-pane sash window on the first floor at the centre and a 19th-century glazed door below, topped with a large glazed light. Other elevations of the house also have sash windows.
The interior was inaccessible at the time of the survey but is likely to retain its 19th-century joinery.
