Description
This cottage, known as Saltburn, dates from the early 18th century. It features stone rubble walls and has a gable-ended roof made of corrugated asbestos. A tall rubble chimney stack is located at the right gable end.
The cottage has a small two-room layout, with the main heated room on the right and narrow service rooms and stairs on the left. The exterior is two storeys high and has an asymmetrical front with two windows. On the right side, there are mid-20th century three-light casements, while the left side has 19th century two-light casements on the first floor. A 20th-century plank door with a glazed panel is positioned below the windows.
The interior was not accessible during the survey. This cottage is noted for being an unusual example of a very small dwelling that has never been extended.
