Description

West Eckworthy Farmhouse is a mid-to-late 18th-century farmhouse, with eaves raised in the late 19th century. The exterior is colourwashed render over stone and cob, with a gabled artificial slate roof and a stone ridge stack. A large external stack of rendered stone, featuring a bread oven projection, is located at the left end of the building. The farmhouse follows a three-unit plan and has a three-window front. The ground floor features flat-rendered arches over a 20th-century door on the right and over two 3-light casement windows. A 19th-century dairy outshut is situated at the rear, containing a plank door on the left. Inside, a central beam is ogee-stopped. A late 18th-century boxed staircase has an old plank door fitted with strap hinges.
