Description
Kipling Terrace, located on Kingsley Road in Westward Ho!, was built around 1865 and originally served as the United Services College, which is noted for being the setting of Rudyard Kipling's "Stalky and Co." This imposing four-storey terrace is constructed of stucco and features typical architectural details from the mid-19th century. Each house includes a three-storey splayed bay, with parapets that create balconies at the third-floor level. Above these balconies are paired round-headed windows, and the dormers feature segmental heads with scroll sides. Additionally, there are iron balconies between the bays at the first-floor level. The terrace is listed partly due to its literary significance.
