Description
The stables, located approximately 35 metres to the north-east of Halsdon House, date from the late 18th century. They feature rendered cob and rubble walls and a half-hipped thatch roof, with a brick stack at the left-hand end. The building is designed with a plan that includes a stable on the right divided into three stalls, two loose boxes at the left-hand end, and a tack room beyond that contains a fireplace.
The exterior is a single storey with an attic and has an asymmetrical front with three windows, which are 19th-century three-light leaded pane casements. The tack room is set back from the left-hand end. Inside, the 19th-century stall divisions remain intact with rails above, and the tack room features tongue and groove panelling along with a 19th-century chimneypiece.
