Description
Higher Newbridge is an early 19th-century house constructed with roughly squared stone rubble walls and a slate roof that is hipped at the left end and gabled at the front of the wing. The building features two brick stacks, one at the left-hand end and one axial. The plan consists of three main rooms, with the right-hand room projecting slightly as a wing, while very narrow service rooms are located at the rear.
The house is two storeys high and has an asymmetrical three-window front, with the right-hand end featuring a projecting gable. The first floor has 16-pane early 19th-century sash windows, while the ground floor has 20-pane windows, all of which, according to the current occupant, are re-used from another building. Each window is topped with a flat stone arch. To the left of centre, there is a double doorway with two adjoining 19th-century plank doors. Some of the rear casement windows still have their original leaded lights. Inside, there is an open fireplace with a rough wooden lintel.
