Description
The causeway and three sets of floodarches located immediately south-west of the Teignbridge railway crossing date from the late 18th century or early 19th century. They feature rubble stone side walls with parapets and an ashlar platband that supports an elevated roadway extending from OS 85607327 to beyond the southern parish boundary. At the northern end, there is a single segmental flood arch with ashlar voussoirs. Near the southern boundary, there is another similar flood arch, and between them are a pair of low elliptical flood arches, also with ashlar voussoirs, separated by cutwaters topped with pyramid caps on the east and west sides. The platband ramps over the arches, and dressed copings are present on the parapets throughout.
