Description
Moor Park is a cottage dating from the early 19th century or possibly earlier. It is constructed of colourwashed rendered cob and features a thatched roof that is half-hipped at both ends, with an axial stack. At the rear, there is a lean-to with a corrugated iron roof and a tall brick chimney shaft on the left side.
The cottage has a two-room plan, with two heated rooms that share the axial stack; the larger room is located on the left. The rear lean-to is likely a later addition intended for small service rooms. The current entrance is located at the left-hand end of the lean-to, and the original entrance to the main part of the cottage is unclear from the outside.
The building has two storeys and a symmetrical front with two windows, featuring regular fenestration of 2-light casements, each with six panes per light. Although the interior has not been inspected, it is reported to have exposed ceiling beams and may include other interesting features. Moor Park is situated on a corner site near the centre of Cheriton Bishop Village.
