Description

Chudleigh Bridge is a local bridge over the River Teign, built in the early 19th century. It is constructed from granite ashlar and features rusticated granite piers. The bridge has a single span with parapets and a wide segmental arch that springs from the rusticated piers. At either end, there are pilasters with sunk panels, which are topped with pyramidal caps. A deep hollow-chamfered string course runs around the bridge as a cornice to the pilasters. This is a handsome road bridge, showcasing a high-quality finish to the masonry.
