Description
South Hill is a disused farmhouse located in Tedburn St Mary, possibly dating from the early 18th century or representing an early 18th-century remodelling of an earlier structure. The building is constructed of rendered cob and has a thatched roof with gables at both ends, featuring end stacks and an axial stack with brick shafts. It has a single-depth plan with rear left and right outshuts that have catslide roofs. The farmhouse contains three heated rooms and rear service rooms in the outshuts, and it stands two storeys tall. The front elevation is partly overgrown and features a six- or seven-window front with regular fenestration, although the position of the front door is unclear. The first-floor windows are 19th-century small pane timber casements. The interior was not accessible during the survey, but it is possible that features of interest remain.
