Description

The former look-out tower, believed to date from around 1795, is incorporated with Tower House at the corner of Newton Road. This two-storey structure is built of stone and features a semi-circular central arched niche with an entrance door that has been inserted. There is a circular staircase projection at the south corner. The building has a slightly projecting parapet and castellations, topped with slate slab copes. The lower floor is situated below the current road level. An original stone stair rises within the higher circular turret, which is also castellated.
