Description
This is a commemorative lamp standard located about 20 metres south of the Church of St James in North Huish. Dated 1887, it was erected to commemorate Queen Victoria's Jubilee. The lamp standard features a granite octagonal wreathed base and pedestal, with a cast iron standard above. The standard is moulded and ribboned, supporting a lantern topped with a finial. The pedestal is inscribed in lead with a Maltese Cross and the initials V.R. 1887, along with the phrase "LAUS DEO."
