Description
Ford Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the late 18th century or early 19th century, with a 20th-century addition. It features rendered stone rubble walls and a hipped slate roof, with brick stacks at either end. The building has a double depth plan that is two rooms wide, with two principal rooms at the front on either side of a central entrance and stair hall, and the 20th-century addition at the right-hand end.
The exterior is two storeys high with a symmetrical three-window front. The central window on the first floor is a 12-pane sash, while the outer windows are tripartite and likely later 19th-century replicas of the originals. There is an original central doorhood with a modillion cornice supported by probably replacement wooden pillars. Behind this is a late 18th-century or early 19th-century six-panel door with a rectangular fanlight above. The eaves cornice also features modillions.
The interior was inaccessible during the survey but may include original joinery such as the staircase, panelled shutters, and doors. The property includes a low stone garden wall at the front with railings above and a central gateway.
