Description

This is an early 19th-century refronting of an older building, which later served as the Devon and Cornwall Bank in 1863. It forms a pair with the adjacent building at No. 54. The building is two and a half storeys high and has a single window. It has a Welsh slate roof, and the front is timber-framed, plastered, and gabled. The first and second floors feature architraved sash windows with sidelights and glazing bars. A ground floor loggia, supported by wooden Doric columns, extends over the pavement. A modern shopfront now occupies the ground floor.
