Description

This is a two-storey building at 24-28 Fore Street, dating to the 18th or early 19th century and subsequently altered. The exterior is mainly stucco, with lined and painted detailing. The first floor features sash windows, some retaining their original glazing bars. The roofs are covered with red machine pantiles, with an exception for number 25, which has a slate roof. Red brick chimneys are located at the ends of the building. The shop fronts are largely from the 19th century, with number 26 having a modern shop front. Inside number 27 is a close string pine staircase with column newels, coupled at the landing, square balusters, and a swept rail. The lower ground floor has beams made from ships timbers. Numbers 24 to 31 form a group.
