Description
Castle House is an early to mid-19th century house designed in the Gothick style. The front is finished in stucco and features a hipped Welsh slate roof with a gable on the main elevation.
The house is two and a half storeys high and has a single bay with a rectangular shape. The principal elevation faces south and includes a recessed triple sash window on the ground floor. Above, on the first floor, there is an oriel window with three four-over-four sash windows. The gable has decorative bargeboards and a small pointed arch window with tracery. To the right of the ground floor, there is a slightly projecting stucco doorcase topped with a false battlemented parapet, which contains a 20th-century door.
The interior has not been inspected. Castle House is designated as Grade II due to its early to mid-19th century Gothick design and the well-preserved façade that showcases high-quality Gothick details, particularly in the bargeboards, windows, and the battlemented doorcase.
