Description
Sorley Farmhouse is an early 19th-century farmhouse. The front is rendered, while the rest of the building is constructed of rubble. It has slate roofs. The house is a large, square block with a central valley to its parallel hipped roofs. It has two storeys, a cellar, and an attic. A single-storey, flat-roofed extension on the front is not considered to be of special interest. The front and rear facades each have three windows. The front ground floor features a three-light glazing-bar casement window and a tripartite sash window, above which are three sixteen-pane sash windows. A small 20th-century dormer is centrally positioned in the roof. A 20th-century door is present. The rear of the house has sixteen-pane sash windows on both levels, with a central part-glazed door leading to a projecting conservatory. The left end has two sixteen-pane sash windows, and a small window above the door, set in deep reveals. A wide plank door to the basement is located low down on the left end. The right end has a sixteen-pane sash window and a smaller eight-pane single light at ground level, also in deep reveals. Most windows are surrounded by stone voussoirs. There is one large rendered eaves stack at the left end of the building, and two similar stacks at the right end. The eaves are boxed. The interior of the house has not been inspected.
