Description
Crooks Cottage and Fishermans Cottage are a pair of cottages, likely built in the 18th century, with some alterations in the 19th century and internal changes in the 20th century. They are constructed from roughcast stone rubble and feature an asbestos tile roof with gabled ends; Fishermans Cottage, located on the right, has been coated with bitumen. The gable end stacks are rendered and topped with louvred yellow-clay pots.
The cottages are two storeys high and have a nearly symmetrical three-window south front, with the windows slightly skewed to the right. The tall, mid-19th century, two-light casements have three panes per light, while the left ground floor window has eight panes per light. There are two central doorways beneath a 19th-century flat canopy; the left doorway features a late 19th or early 20th century panelled and glazed door, while the right has a 20th-century glazed door. The rear elevation was not inspected.
The property includes front garden area walls and railings, which date from the mid to late 19th century. These consist of a stone rubble wall with painted brick piers and iron railings topped with spearheads. The interior was not inspected.
