Description

This limekiln, dating from the early 19th century, is located approximately 240 metres south-south-east of the Church of St Mary in North Huish. Constructed mainly from local shale rubble, the limekiln is built into a bank, which helps with the leading at the top. The front features rounded corners and a large pointed arch opening that is semi-circular in plan. Inside, the arch is corbelled, and there is a stoking hole at the back. This structure is included for its group value.
