Description
The former granary, located immediately to the north of Easton Farmhouse, is a farm building that has been converted into accommodation. It dates back to 1790 and features walls made of coursed dressed slatestone that are very finely jointed, topped with a slate half-hipped roof. A stone axial chimney stack has been recently inserted.
The building is three storeys high. The entrance front has a central doorway with a late 20th-century part-glazed door. The rear elevation is symmetrical with three windows, while the right-hand side wall has two windows, all of which are late 20th-century 2-light casements set in original openings with voussoir arches above. A projecting stone string course separates the lower and middle storeys, and there is a coved stone eaves cornice. A date stone is located on the right-hand end wall.
Inside, the building features some ovolo-moulded wooden lintels above the windows, which are likely re-used from the farmhouse. The roof has a tie beam construction made from substantial hardwood timbers, which may be original. A 19th-century lean-to has been added against the left-hand end.
