Description
Old Thatch and Little Thatch are a pair of houses, likely from the 17th century, but significantly altered in the 20th century. They have rendered stone rubble walls and a thatched roof with gable ends. There are three rubble stacks with dripcourses, two positioned along the ridge and one at the left gable end. The original layout is unclear, but it seems that the buildings have been extended at one end. Old Thatch, on the left, appears to have a three-room plan, while Little Thatch consists of one room at the right end and another in a rear wing, which was probably an outbuilding.
The exterior features two storeys and an asymmetrical front with four windows, where Old Thatch occupies three-quarters of the façade. The windows are 20th-century casements with two, three, and four lights. There is a firemark located below the eaves of Little Thatch towards the right end. Both houses have 20th-century doors on their rear walls. The interior of Old Thatch is accessible and shows few early features, while more original elements may still exist in Little Thatch.
