Description

School House is a house that may have originally served as a church house and is now part of a school. The earliest features date back to the 17th century, although the site may be older and was significantly rebuilt in the early 19th century. The building has a roughcast and whitewashed exterior over a cob and rubble core, topped with a slate roof featuring gable ends and wide eaves, along with end stacks that have roughcast shafts.

The exterior is symmetrical, consisting of two storeys and three bays. The first floor has 19th-century two-light casement windows with glazing bars, while the ground floor features 19th-century 16-pane sash windows. There is a central door opening with a plank door and a lean-to porch.

Inside, there is a central lobby that includes a wide straight-flight staircase. The room to the left has two large ceiling beams that are chamfered with stepped stops. The room to the right contains a late 19th-century chimneypiece with a bracketed mantle. No notable features were observed on the first floor, and the roof was not visible.
