Description
This is a house, likely dating from the late 18th century, although earlier building elements may be present. The exterior is a combination of colourwashed stone and cob, now topped with concrete tiles. Brick stacks rise from each gable end.
The house is arranged with single rooms on each side of a central passage. This passage leads to a rear outshut at ground floor level, containing the kitchen and staircase. The facade features quoin pilasters; a Victorian postbox is set into the right-hand pilaster, and a plain moulded cornice runs along the top.
The house is two stories high, with a three-window front. The windows are wooden sash windows, with six panes per sash, except for a single window to the left containing eight panes, and a pair of smaller-paned windows to the right of the off-centre doorway. The doorway has a panelled door set in a deep reveal. All the ground floor windows have projecting stone sills, and the original sash boxes are exposed. Though set back, all the sash windows are original. The building is included on the list for its contribution to the group value of the street’s listed buildings.
