Description
This is a bank barn located approximately 25 metres east of Higher Bableigh Farmhouse, dating from the mid-19th century. It is constructed of random stone rubble and features a gable-ended scantle slate roof. The barn is rectangular in shape and has two storeys, with access to the first floor at the rear.
There are five basket-arched cart entrances with stone voussoirs; the leftmost entrance is obscured by a 20th-century right-angled projection. The central arch has double plank threshing doors above, which are sheltered by a small slate canopy supported on piers that extend through both storeys. Additionally, there are similar pilaster-style buttresses between the outer two arches on each side of the barn. At the rear, there are two outshuts with corrugated roofs.
