Description
Franklands Cottage is a 18th-century cottage constructed from white painted cob and stone rubble, topped with a thatched roof that is hipped at the right end. It features a brick stack at the left gable end and has a two-cell plan with a continuous outshut to the rear, which has a slate roof. The cottage is two stories tall and has a two-window range of 19th-century two-light casements, with eight panes per light on the left and six panes on the right. There are two two-light casements flanking a gabled porch that has a plank inner door. At the right end, there is a 19th-century two-light casement with six panes per light, along with three pigeon holes to the left and two to the right, positioned above a four-paned casement to the right of a two-panelled door. Inside, some 18th-century joinery remains intact.
