EAST AND WEST BUCKLAND SS 63 SE 3/66 Stoodleigh Barton including - lofted outbuilding attached at east end, linhay attached to north and rear courtyard walls - II

Farmhouse, including lofted outbuilding, linhay and farm courtyard walls. Farmhouse probably mid to late C17. Outbuildings late C18/early C19. Farmhouse rendered stone and cob. Asbestos slate roof with brick stacks at each gable end. Lofted outbuilding, stone rubble with half-hipped asbestos slate roof. Linhay stone rubble with some brick and slate roof. Courtyard walls of unrendered cob. Farmhouse, symmetrical plan with principal room each side of 2-storey porch to through passage. Service wing at right angles to rear left side, forming L-plan. Lofted outbuilding with first floor access to loft attached at right gable end of farmhouse. Linhay is a continuation of the rear service wing, the cob walls enclosing the rear courtyard on the 2 remaining sides. Farmhouse, 2 storeys. 5-window range, including 2 storey porch. All early C20 3- light casements, 3 panes per light except porch which has a 2-light casement 2 panes per light. 4 panelled inner door. Linhay has wide stone rubble pillars dividing the bays, the upper parts with timber boarding, ground floor infilled with windows inserted. Interior of farmhouse not accessible but appears to be largely remodelled in late C19/early C20.
