Description
Umberleigh Mill House is a mill house that has been converted into a private dwelling. It features some 17th century elements, with possibly older origins, and was remodeled in the 20th century. The building is constructed from stone rubble and has a hipped thatch roof, with a tall lateral stone stack on the west side. It has a rectangular shape and is two storeys high with an attic storey. Many of the window openings have been altered, although some still retain cambered stone lintels. The north entrance front includes a small single-storey stone rubble extension to the left, topped with a conical thatched roof. To the right, there is a thatched porch roof supported by circular rubble piers, featuring a cambered timber lintel and a substantial 17th century chamfered door surround with weathered stops, leading to heavy double stable doors.
