Description
The Eyecatcher, located approximately 600 metres south of Upcott House, is a Grade II listed structure dating from around 1800. This sham Gothic ruin is constructed of stone rubble set on a rubble plinth. It features a large central opening with a segmental brick arch that has moulded imposts and remnants of brickwork above. On either side of the central quatrefoil, there are blind loop patterns consisting of two roundels. The taller flanking walls, which resemble towers, project slightly forward and each has a pair of blocked roundels positioned above and below the large blind quatrefoil. To the left, there are three brick crenellations, while one remains on the right. A low rubble wall curves away on the west side.
