Description
Bradiford Bridge spans Bradiford Water and is likely from the 18th century or earlier, with widening that occurred in the early 19th century. It is constructed from stone rubble, featuring copings made of dressed local stone and red brick string courses. The bridge has three segmental arches on each side, with part of a fourth arch visible at the southeast end on the upstream side. The downstream arches are made with rough voussoirs, while the upstream arches have well-cut voussoirs of dressed stone, with three low cutwaters positioned between the arches. A brick string course runs above the arches on both sides. The parapets are made of stone rubble and topped with rounded, well-worn coping stones. Embedded in the upstream parapet, just above the pavement, is a small stone plaque with an illegible inscription.
