Description

Ashleigh Cottage is likely an early 19th-century house, remodelled and refaced in the late 19th century. It is constructed of unrendered snecked stone rubble, with a slate roof and gable-end stacks which have been rendered. The house has a two-room-and-central-passage plan, with two rooms deep, and a two-storey porch on the south side, where the entry has been blocked into the right-hand rear room. The front has a symmetrical two-window range. The windows are four-paned sashes with rendered architraves and vermiculated keystones to the lintels, and have a gabled slate canopy supported on shaped brackets. There is a four-panelled door. A projecting gabled porch on the south side is supported on chamfered posts. The interior has not been inspected.
