Description

The Pecardy headstone, located approximately 3 metres south of the chancel of the Church of St Mary in Burlescombe, is a Grade II listed structure dated 1772. This headstone commemorates William Pecardy and is made of local grey limestone. It features an upright slab with a rounded head, standing about 450mm high. The front of the headstone has an inscribed border that does not extend around the head. The inscription is crafted in Roman serif upper and lower case lettering, recording the death of William Pecardy in 1772.
