Description
This is a water tower located approximately 200 metres north-west of Reeve Castle, built around 1900. It is constructed from rubble and brick, with an unknown roof material. The tower has a tall square shape, with the lower section made of rubble and red brick quoins. The upper part is faced with red brick, featuring a lower band of cream-coloured brick and an upper dripcourse. There is a doorway on the east side and a single stair window. A stair turret projects upwards to a flat roof that is enclosed with plain iron railings. The water was pumped into the tower by an iron-framed windmill, which is positioned nearby on its side. This water tower supplied the necessary head of water for the intricate system of water gardens, ponds, lakes, and a waterfall in the grounds of Reeve Castle.
