Description

This early 19th-century house is situated on the south side of Briton Street in Bampton. It is likely a double-depth house with an entrance hall to the left and a principal room to the right. The exterior is colourwashed and plastered, with a slate roof and gabled ends, featuring end stacks. The front has regular fenestration with a panelled front door to the left, which has a rectangular fanlight, panelled reveals, pilasters and an entablature. Above are three first-floor and two ground-floor windows, all with 12 panes. From 1873 to 1912, the house was the home of John Burge, a ropemaker.
