Description
Hillerton Cross is a wayside cross, likely from the 15th century, set on a 20th-century plinth. It is made of granite and stands approximately 3 metres high, facing west on its original socket stone and a 20th-century rubble base. The socket is square in section with worn, rounded top edges. The cross itself is carved from a single piece of granite, with a shaft that tapers slightly towards the top and features chamfered edges with pyramid stops towards the bottom. The arms of the cross are short, and the chamfers continue around them.
