Description

The Woodbury headstone, located approximately 10 metres south of the chancel of the Church of St Mary, is a Grade II listed structure dated 1746. It commemorates John Woodbury and is made of local grey limestone. The headstone is an upright slab that stands about 800mm high and features a segmental head. The front of the stone has an incised frame and is inscribed with Roman serif capitals, including some words in italic lettering. The inscription records the death of John Woodbury in 1746.
