Description

The Gibbings headstone, located approximately 1 metre east of the porch of the Church of St Matthew, is a memorial dated 1818 in memory of Richard Gibbings. The headstone is made of slate and features an upright slab that stands about 1.2 metres high, with a flat top and shaped corners. The inscription is framed with concave upper corners and is written in both upper and lower case Roman serif letters, commemorating the death of Richard Gibbings in 1818.
