Description

This is a headstone located approximately 2 meters south of the south aisle of the Church of St Matthew. It dates from around 1846 and commemorates William Dart and his family, with the stone signed by Howell. The headstone is made of slate and features an upright square-headed slab that stands about 1.1 meters high. It has a three-line frame surrounding the inscription, which is written in upper and lower case Roman serif letters. The inscription records the deaths of William Dart in 1798, his son William in 1837, and his wife Mary in 1846.
