Description

The building is a barn, likely from the 17th century, which was refurbished in the 19th century. It is constructed from local stone rubble, with some areas featuring larger squared blocks laid in rough courses, and has a slate roof. The barn is designed as a threshing barn facing southeast and includes large full-height opposing doorways located right of center that open onto the threshing floor. Secondary sheds have been added across the front on either side of the entrance.

On the left of the barn doorway, there is an open-fronted cartshed with a lean-to roof supported by one tapering stone rubble column of circular section and another made of 20th-century concrete blocks. The shed to the left has a continuous lean-to roof and contains a small fixed pane 20th-century window with a diamond pattern of leaded glass, with its doorway located at the end. The shed to the right of the barn entrance features a 20th-century plank door. The lean-to roofs of these secondary sheds are continuous and form a hood across the front of the barn doorway. Both the front and rear barn doorways are flanked by short projecting midstrey walls and contain 19th-century double doors. The barn roof is gable-ended.

Inside, the barn is open to the 19th-century roof, and the threshing floor is made up of oak baulks.
