Description
The wall to the garden south of The White House and Warboro, built around 1900, is a crinkle crankle wall that includes gate piers leading to The White House. It is believed to have been designed by Francis of Dart and Francis, who lived in the house during the late 19th century. The wall is made of rendered single skin brick with slate coping, although some slates have been replaced with tile. The gate piers are also made of brick and feature similar coping. The circular gate piers, constructed from handmade brick with slate coping, are unusual and contemporary with the wall, making this a late example of a crinkle crankle wall.
